BRTA has made the Process of obtaining a Driving License Easier

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has decided to make the process of obtaining a driving license easier. According to the new decision, interested candidates will be able to sit for the learner driving license exam within 7 days. Earlier, it took two months.

This information was given in a notification issued by the BRTA Establishment Branch of the Road Transport and Highways Department on Sunday (November 24), 2024. The notification said that the government has relaxed the obligation to take the driving license proficiency test automatically before the scheduled date, that is, 2 months, to provide emergency services. However, a fee will have to be paid for this.

Three levels of fees have been determined as very urgent, urgent and general urgent categories. Among these, if you want to take the test within 7 to 15 days of the issuance of a learner driving license as very urgent, you will have to pay 5000 taka, if you want to take the test within 16 to 30 days in the urgent category, you will have to pay 3000 taka and if you want to take the test within 31 to 60 days in the general urgent category, you will have to pay a fee of 2000 taka.

The notification further states that BRTA will take necessary measures to automatically prepare a chart/calendar regarding the time and venue of the examination and if a possible schedule is not available in the concerned district, the applicant can take the examination in the neighboring district or divisional city.
