Hero launches XPulse 200 adventure bikes in Bangladesh

Hero MotoCorp has entered Bangladesh's growing adventure motorcycle market with the launch of the XPulse 200 4V and XPulse 200 4V Pro. The bikes were unveiled at an event in Dhaka as the Indian manufacturer seeks to tap growing local demand for lifestyle and adventure-focused bikes.

Both models are powered by a 199.6cc, four-valve, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.9 BHP and 17.35 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox. They come with three riding modes, Road, Off-Road and Rally, as well as dual-purpose tyres, adjustable suspension, LED headlights, a Bluetooth-enabled LCD with navigation, a bash plate and handguards.

Hero XPulse 200 4V is aimed at daily commuting and light off-road riding. It has an 825mm seat height and 220mm ground clearance and will be available in a blue-white colour scheme. Hero XPulse 200 4V Pro is designed for more demanding off-road riding. It offers greater suspension travel, 270mm ground clearance, an 891mm seat height, handlebar risers and an extended gear lever. The Pro variant will be available in white.

The bikes will be distributed through Niloy Motors' network of more than 530 sales and service outlets nationwide. Buyers will also receive a five-year warranty and insurance package. Hero MotoCorp Chief Executive Officer Harshavardhan Chitale said Bangladesh is not only a strategic market but also an important part of the company's global manufacturing and business footprint.

He said the company's local operations, run through a joint venture with Niloy Motors, include a manufacturing plant, an expanding service network and a largely Bangladeshi workforce. The launch comes as Bangladeshi riders increasingly show interest in lifestyle-oriented and adventure motorcycles, according to the company.

The XPulse series marks Hero MotoCorp's push into a relatively underserved segment of Bangladesh's two-wheeler market, which has traditionally been dominated by commuter motorcycles.
